PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS, AND GREAT-GRANDPARENTS FREE FROM HIP AND ELBOW DYSPLASIA - RESULTS OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED BY APMVEAC AND CPC

All parents are free from hip and elbow dysplasia with certificates and medical reports available. In addition to them, grandparents, great-grandparents, and many ancestors are also free from dysplasia. Check on our 'Breeders' page.
This test is crucial to detect any bone deformities and prevent significant problems or expenses in the future. This costly test, which involves anesthesia and X-rays, evaluated by a veterinarian with specific training in canine orthopedics, along with genetic tests for screening other diseases, are two of the various factors that distinguish a professional breeder from the average home breeder. All our breeding dogs have their reports officialized by APMVEAC and are also registered with the Portuguese Kennel Club (Clube Português de Canicultura). This ensures that there are no falsified or reused documents. Pay attention to the authenticity of this document from other breeders. Occasionally, I also buy Labradors, and I have seen my contact being blocked when I insist on seeing the hip and elbow dysplasia documents. The test results for all our dogs are recorded on the LOP/pedigree itself as a guarantee of bone and joint health, which is rare to see in lineages and pedigrees. FCI KENNEL NAME BROWNSUGAR LABS

After over 16 years of existence and with great care in selecting the best genetic lines, we have registered our name with FCI and CPC, a name that will be attached to all puppies of our breeding. Internationally, we are known as 'Brownsugar Labs.' With confidence in having the best genetic lines, both in morphology and temperament, as well as health control, we aim to identify the puppies in our litters with the name of our kennel.

LITTERS VERIFIED IN PERSON BY THE PORTUGUESE KENNEL CLUB (CPC)

Due to the high demand for our dogs, we are visited by the Portuguese Kennel Club (CPC) and also by the Directorate-General for Food and Veterinary (DGAV) to verify litters, parents, and conditions of the dogs, and I welcome them with great pleasure. They assess the quality and accuracy of the information we provide and confirm that everything is in compliance. As an example, they confirmed that our dogs were indeed the parents through the reading of the microchip (with their own device) and that they matched the ones listed in the LOPs we possess. Number of puppies, age, etc.; everything matches. The DGAV checked the conditions of our kennels and the quality of life of our dogs, and it was with great pleasure that we heard many compliments and that our dogs have a quality of life well above the average in Portugal.

Nutrition is crucial from gestation, just as it is for humans. Our females are supplemented during pregnancy as recommended by the veterinarian. Additionally, the early months are essential. Puppy's early nutrition will have repercussions on the future development of the nervous and musculoskeletal systems. For this reason, the puppies in our litters are fed, right from weaning, with high-quality dog food that provides all the necessary nutrients for excellent development and protection of vital organs. It's gluten-free, free from genetically modified ingredients (GMO-free), includes fresh ingredients (meat and vegetables), joint protectors (chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine), integration of MOS and FOS to improve intestinal flora as well as glucose (sugar) and protein absorption. They are enriched with Omegas 3 and 6, which also act on the coat, blood circulation, among other systems. The bags of food for puppies and parents are visible on our kennel! PUPPY'S VACCINATION

They are delivered with a Vaccination Record, Veterinarian Stamp, and respective vignette. Pay attention to records with only 'initials' or breeders'' signatures. Vaccination administered by breeders or others can often be misdirected and incomplete. This is why there are veterinarians. There are often changes to European vaccination guidelines to ensure animal immunity. For example, several years ago, only 2 multi-defense vaccinations were given in the initial phase, and currently, 3 are recommended to ensure that maternal immunity does not interfere with acquired immunity (e.g., against parvovirus).

LOP - LIVRO DE ORIGENS PORTUGUÊS (PEDIGREE) - PUREBRED AND INTERNATIONAL MULTI-CHAMPIONS

Pedigree (LOP) - This document ensures that the breed is pure and follows the Labrador Retriever standard. Ancestors are multi-champions in various international dog show competitions. In the Pedigree of all our breeders, you will see something rare in Portugal and uncommon in the rest of the world, except for the grand champions - the official results of hip and elbow dysplasia by APMVEAC on the actual parent. This provides health assurance in addition to the usual medical reports. |
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL DEWORMING

You will receive the puppies internally and externally dewormed. The parents are also dewormed to prevent transmission to the puppies. This process is essential to avoid problems such as vomiting, diarrhea (where parasites are often visible), weight loss, or anemia."

CARRIER SERVICE OF YOUR NEW PUPPY
|
You can comfortably receive your puppy in the locality where you live or very close to it (location to be arranged with the transporter). You don't have to travel to our kennel. This service has an additional cost of approximately 75 euros (prices subject to change, and confirmation is required at the time of booking as it is done by an external company). There is also a premium service, more expensive, with home delivery at a mutually agreed-upon time.

SUPPORT FOR NEW OWNERS - SUPPORT LETTER AND WORKSHOP
|
We are concerned about the well-being of your new puppy and its entry into the new home. For this reason, we provide a document to new owners with all the information regarding food and brand changes, vaccinations, deworming, Pedigree (LOP), adaptation to the new home, and many other essential details. Additionally, on the day of the puppy's visit/selection, we conduct a workshop for the owners covering various topics such as training, dealing with various types of behaviour, health, nutrition, and addressing any questions the owners may have.

MICROCHIP - SIAC

Our puppies already come with the introduction of a microchip with the name you selected for your convenience and expense reduction. The same registration also includes the hip and elbow dysplasia report as it has been officialised.

We do everything legally and responsibly. We issue an invoice and provide a statement of ceding the puppy (legal requirement).

VETERINARY CLINIC PARTNER FOR THE TREATMENT AND CONSULTATIONS OF OUR DOGS/PUPPIES

We have partnered with the Veterinary Clinic of Póvoa da Galega (AnimalCare) for the treatment and consultations of our dogs and puppies. The puppies are all delivered with a health declaration, stamp, and vignette from the doctor who examined them. We leave nothing to chance. We also have a hospital with which we regularly work, namely, the Veterinary Hospital of Mata de Santa Iria.
These clinics have diligent and responsible veterinarians. They are well-rated on Google with an average rating above 4.5 stars. |
KENNEL LICENSED BY DGVA (PORTUGUESE OFFICAL ENTITY FOR VETERINARY AND FOOD)

Our kennel is licensed by the DGAV. We were visited by a veterinarian and inspector from the DGAV of the West region, and they verified that the animals have all the necessary hygiene and safety conditions. They also confirmed that all our animals are well cared for. All records are in order, both from the CPC (Portuguese Kennel Club) and health records (all vaccines up to date). All our animals are registered with the Parish Council of our locality.

REGULAR CLEANING AND DISINFECTION

We clean our kennels with professional products (authorised by the Directorate-General of Veterinary Medicine), used in Veterinary Hospitals, Clinics, Laboratories, Hotels, Food Processing Areas, Restaurants, Schools, and are entirely safe for our pets. These products have the ability to prevent bacteria, viruses, micro-bacteria, fungi, and spores.
